You’re assured of a warm welcome in Thailand, the “Land of Smiles”, but what can you actually do when you get there? Basically, just about anything you want to do, you can do in Thailand (plus a lot of things you probably didn’t even think about).

Beaches & Water Sports

Thailand has some truly amazing beaches, and at many beaches the water is so crystal clear that you can see the whole under-water world in all of its glory from the surface – this means that Thailand is absolutely perfect for scuba diving, one of the most popular water sports in the country. Scuba diving in Thailand doesn’t cost the earth, and if you need to achieve your scuba diving certification then it’s a great place to start, then you’ll be able to enjoy scuba diving all over the world. Other popular watersports in Thailand are rafting, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, yachting, jet ski-ing . . . you name it, you can do it in Thailand.

There certainly are plenty of weird and wonderful things to see in Thailand – under the sea.

Ride an Elephant in Thailand

Thailand is also famous for it’s elephants, and the opportunity to ride an elephant is just too good to miss when you visit Thailand. Take a ride on a well trained elephant through forests and local villages, you can book anything from a half an hour walk around to a five day trek, depending on how adventurous you are. Serious elephant riders need to visit the north of the country for the best trekking experience. If you don’t want to actually ride an elephant then there are plenty of sanctuaries where you can just pay them a visit.

That looks terrific doesn’t it. I certainly need to add that to my “bucket list” of stuff to do before I die!

Thailand Spa

Spas were once seen as being extremely self-indulgent, but these days they are becoming more of a necessity, and you do really need to treat yourself to a little pampering on your trip to Thailand. If you can’t bring yourself to visit a health spa and relax in the ambiance and enjoy the wonderful spa experience, you can simply lie on the beach and enjoy a massage for a very low cost.

Thailand for Adventurers

Thailand is an adventurers paradise with miles and miles of stunning scenery for trekkers. Trekking adventures can be as long or as short as you like, as easy or as challenging as you can cope with, from a days light trekking adventure to a full weeks trip into the wilds of Thailand, trekking in Thailand really is amazing. Other popular Thailand adventures include rock climbing, cycling, bird watching (there are some truly astounding birds to watch like you’re never gonna see in your back yard), you can even visit a Thai army training camp and try your hand at golf, riding, sharp-shooting and other military type adventures.

Thailand Events & Festivals

Thailand celebrates many different events and festivals, and if you are lucky enough to visit at the right time then you’ll be able to enjoy it too. They have festivals for many different reasons – religious (Thai people are deeply religious and devoted to Buddhism), royal and their royal ancestry, seeking good fortune in agriculture at the planting of the seeds and the harvest. Visitors are welcomed to watch Thailand events and festivals, and can even join in, especially the amazing parties that often follow late into the night.  Thai festivals which are particularly popular with visitors include the Elephant Round-Up in Surin, the Vegetarian Festival in Phuket and the Ghost Festival in Loei.

Thailand is a wonderful country, rich with culture and warm, friendly people. Whatever you decide to do in Thailand you’re assured of having a truly fantastic time.
