Things To Do In Los Angeles
There’s certainly no shortage of great things to do and see in Los Angeles, the City of Angels. From Jurassic Technology to Star Spotting to cruising Rodeo Drive – you’re sure to have a great time in LA.
Hollywood Stars – you’re never too far away from celebs in LA, but don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that you spend your time in LA stalking Hollywood A listers, just walk the walk, the Hollywood Walk of Fame – 2,000 celebrity figures have been immortalized with the symbolic gold letters in pink terrazzo – this is a must for any first time visitors to Los Angeles, and even if you’ve been before it’s still worth making the trip to see which new names have been added.
Take a Bus Tour of Los Angeles – there are some great bus tours on offer in Los Angeles, taking you to some of the most famous (as well as infamous) places in town. Visit the homes of some of your favorite celebs with a tour of Movie Star Homes in Beverley Hills as well as finding out all about the real City of Angels.
Walking Tour of LA – if you prefer to get out and about in the fresh air, then why not take a walking tour of Los Angeles. You’ll learn lots about the architecture, history and folklore, explore hidden treasures and find secret alleyways. Sound good? You betcha’
Hit The Beach – A visit to Venice Beach in LA needs to be very close to the top of your list of “things to do in Los Angeles” – mingle with the tourists (okay, you’ll be one of ‘em so you’ll fit right in), watch out for the skateboarders, marvel at the body builders, sample a scrummy lunch whilst just sitting back and enjoying the scenery – people watching is a very popular pastime at Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
Universal Studios, Los Angeles – movie lovers cannot visit Los Angeles without taking a trip to the Universal Studios. It was originally created so that tourists could visit the famous film sets and sound stages from their favorite movies, but these days it has evolved into a full blown theme park complete with thrilling movie themed roller coaster rides, plus a studio tour.
Museum of Jurassic Technology – okay, forget the dinosaurs and those great big gates on the Spielberg film, this museum has got nothing to do with that – well, not really. It’s home to an intriguing combination of fiction and fact, tiny sculptures, artistic miracles and wonders which you’ll find - wonderful and amazing.
Visit Disneyland – You’re never too old to visit Disneyland, after all, Mickey is probably one of the oldest visitors to Disneyland by far. Disneyland in Los Angeles is jam packed with exciting things to see and do, you can experience Frontierland, take in a little music in New Orleans square and maybe even get to meet some of your favorite Disney characters. If all that sounds a little tame for your visit to Los Angeles then take a ride on the Indiana Jones Adventure or Space Mountain, that oughta’ stir up your milkshake.
Hey, where’s Julia?
Here she is – any time you fancy going on another shopping spree Richard, I’m ready and waiting!
Visit the Farmers Market – okay, enough of the movies, let’s get back to reality (if that’s possible in a magical place like Los Angeles). The famous Farmers Market started out being just that, a farmers market, but these days it has grown into very much more. It’s a fun, lively place to visit, to eat, drink, have a little fun and do a little shopping. Don’t forget to check out the dancing fountains at the Farmers Market in Los Angeles, they really are incredible.
If that hasn’t tantalized your tastebuds then I don’t know what will . . . can’t wait for my next visit!
Visit Knotts Berry Farm – this theme park is chock-a-block with thrilling rides, but it actually grew (like many things in Los Angeles) from very humble beginnings. So popular was the fried chicken dinners of Cordelia Knott that her husband, Walt, decided to bring along a few western themed attractions for a little entertainment while they were waiting . . . the rest, as they say, is history!
There are so many things to do and see in Los Angeles that it’s about impossible to include them all, but I hope that this has given you a little taster of the magical time which is awaiting you, in Los Angeles, the City of Angels and home to the stars.
