Discount Travel Accommodations

There’s nothing like getting away from it all for a few days, and even if you’re on a bit of a tight budget, there are still ways and means of finding somewhere nice to stay.

Finding Discount Travel Accommodations

Accommodation does not have to cost the earth, you can still find “cheap ‘n cheerful” options in some of the most exotic travel destinations in the world, often just by being willing to move a couple of streets away from the main tourist  attractions.

Bed & Breakfast – oh, the good old B&B. You can often find a really good choice of smaller, privately run bed and breakfast establishments, almost falling within the shadows of the most expensive “posh” hotels. As long as they’re clean, central and offer a good hearty breakfast to get you going in the mornings, what more could you want? Check out online for some great offers in the holiday destination of your choice, you might be surprised at the bargains you can find.

Camping – has long been a favorite with families, particularly those with young children who don’t really want to be confined to a stuffy hotel but prefer to let the kids run a little wild in the great outdoors. Camping is a terrific way to spend your vacation, and it can work out much cheaper than many other options. If you don’t fancy the idea of sleeping on the floor with a variety of bugs and washing under cold water in the mornings – think again, new campsites have lots of the facilities of home – electricity, plumbing and everything.

Time Shares – there was a time when the whole world went time share crazy and you couldn’t walk along a beach front without being accosted by a time shares salesperson, then, naturally, it began to fall a little “off radar”. However, there are still some great time share bargains to be had, and you might even be able to swap your 1 week in February in some off the beaten track destination, for a mid-season week in Orlando. The awesome power of the time share.

Villas – now we all know that one good way of falling out with your best friend is to go on holiday together, but if you do think that you can manage a whole week in the company of some mates, why not think about renting a Villa? There are some great ones on offer, and even though it might sound quite expensive for the larger ones, if you can share the cost between two or even three families, it quickly starts to look a lot more affordable.

Hostels – whenever you think of a hostel, the word “youth” generally springs before it, but these days hostels are open to “youths” of all ages. You probably won’t be “en suite”, you might even have to share a room, but hey, as long as you don’t get a couple of loud snorers you can manage for a night or two, right? It certainly is an option for a bit of discount travel accommodation

OK, that’s just a few ideas to get you going. There’s also really good offers available, largely on the internet, for all sorts of hotels, resorts, casinos, even golfing accommodation and spas. The trick is to shop around a little and not just book the first thing that you see!
